PINPOINT TEST D : B11D6:11 Or B11D6:15

- D1 CHECK FOR DTCs FROM THE SOD-L AND SOD-R SELF-TESTS
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the SOD-L and SOD-R self-tests.
Is DTC B11D6:11 or B11D6:15 recorded?
Yes For DTC B11D6:11, GO to D2.If DTC B11D6:15 sets and the LED is not illuminated, GO to D5.If DTC B11D6:15 sets and the LED is always on, GO to Pinpoint Test I . No For all other DTCs, REFER to the DTC Chart: SOD-L and SOD-R . - D2 CHECK THE EXTERIOR MIRROR BLIS ® /CTA LED FOR A SHORT
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Exterior Mirror BLIS ® /CTA LED C576 (LH concern).
- Disconnect: RH Exterior Mirror BLIS ® /CTA LED C676 (RH concern).
- Ignition ON.
- Clear the SOD-L or SOD-R DTCs and repeat the self-test.
Is DTC B11D6:11 retrieved again?
Yes GO to D3. No INSTALL a new exterior mirror glass for the side in question. REFER to Rear View Mirrors . - D3 CHECK THE EXTERIOR MIRROR FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Clear the SOD-L or SOD-R DTCs and repeat the self-test.
Is DTC B11D6:11 retrieved again?
Yes GO to D4. No CHECK the suspect exterior mirror harness for opens, shorts and corrosion and REPAIR as necessary. If the harness cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new exterior mirror for the one in question. REFER to Rear View Mirrors . - D4 CHECK THE EXTERIOR MIRROR BLIS ® /CTA LED VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
LH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4369-1 Ground RH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4370-1 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes For a LH concern, GO to D12.For a RH concern, GO to D13. No REPAIR the circuit in question. - D5 CHECK THE SUSPECTED EXTERIOR MIRROR BLIS ®/CTA LED FOR ILLUMINATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Connect a fused jumper wire:
LH concern
Lead 1 Measurement / Action Lead 2 C4369-2 C4369-1 RH concern
Lead 1 Measurement / Action Lead 2 C4370-2 C4370-1
- Ignition ON.
Does the LED in question illuminate?
Yes REMOVE the fused jumper wire.For a LH concern, GO to D12.For a RH concern, GO to D13. No REMOVE the jumper wire, GO to D6. - D6 CHECK THE EXTERIOR MIRROR GLASS BLIS ®/CTA LED FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Exterior Mirror BLIS ® /CTA LED C576 (LH concern).
- Disconnect: RH Exterior Mirror BLIS ® /LED C676 (RH concern).
- Measure:
LH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C576 Pin 1 (Component Side) C576 Pin 2 (Component Side) RH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C676 Pin 1 (Component Side) C676 Pin 2 (Component Side)
Is the resistance less than 2000 ohms?
Yes GO to D7. No INSTALL a new exterior mirror glass for the side in question. REFER to Rear View Mirrors . - D7 CHECK THE EXTERIOR MIRROR BLIS ® /CTA LED VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
LH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4369-1 C576-1 RH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4370-1 C676-1
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to D9. No GO to D8. - Measure:
- D8 CHECK THE EXTERIOR MIRROR FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
LH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4369-1 C516-6 RH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C4370-1 C622-6
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes CHECK the exterior mirror harness for opens, shorts and corrosion and REPAIR as necessary. If the harness cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new exterior mirror for the one in question. REFER to Rear View Mirrors . No REPAIR the circuit. - Measure:
- D9 CHECK FOR GROUND AT THE SUSPECT EXTERIOR MIRROR BLIS ® /CTA LED
- Measure:
LH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C576-2 Ground RH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C676-2 Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes For a LH concern, GO to D12.For a RH concern, GO to D13. No GO to D10. - Measure:
- D10 CHECK THE BLIS ®/CTA LED GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Interior rear view mirror C911 .
- Measure:
LH concern

Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C676-2 C911-15
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new interior rear view mirror. REFER to Rear View Mirrors . No GO to D11. - D11 CHECK THE BLIS ®/CTA LED GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN AT THE EXTERIOR MIRROR
- Measure:
LH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C516-6 C911-15 RH concern
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C622-6 C911-15
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes CHECK the suspect exterior mirror harness for opens, shorts and corrosion and REPAIR as necessary. If the harness cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new exterior mirror for the one in question. REFER to Rear View Mirrors . No REPAIR the circuit in question. - Measure:
- D12 CHECK FOR CORRECT SOD-L OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect the SOD-L connector.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the SOD-L connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new SOD-L. REFER to Side Obstacle Detection (SOD) Module . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. - D13 CHECK FOR CORRECT SOD-R OPERATION
- Disconnect and inspect the SOD-R connector.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the SOD-R connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new SOD-L. REFER to Side Obstacle Detection (SOD) Module . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections.
