-- Pull the parking brake button to lock the electromechanical parking brake.
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Vehicles with MMI Basic: remove the center console insert, refer to CENTER CONSOLE INSERT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Vehicles with MMI Convenience: remove the Multimedia System Control Head -E380-, refer to Multimedia System Control Head -E380-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Release the retaining clips -arrows- and press the Electromechanical Parking Brake Button -E538- /-AUTO HOLD- button -E540- -2- out of the cover -1- /Multimedia System Control Head -E380-.
