DTC B2271: Ignition Hold Monitor Malfunction [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE)

    1. Disconnect the H1 and H2 power management control ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-1 (AM22) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      H2-7 (AM21) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR IN CIRCUIT CONNECTED TO POWER SOURCE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND)

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-5 (E01) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H1-6 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H2-4 (E12) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H2-5 (E02) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU 
    1. Reconnect the H1 and H2 power management control ECU connectors.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-2 (IG2D) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) → Power switch on (IG) 1 V or less → 9 V or higher
      H2-2 (IG1D) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) → Power switch on (IG) 1 V or less → 9 V or higher

      *a Component with harness connected
      (to Power Management Control ECU)

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   5 

  4. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
