TS and CG Terminal Circuit [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output. A
      DTCs are output. B

    B → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT DLC3 
    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H29-12 (TS) - H29-4 (CG) Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY (TS of DLC3 INPUT) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals TS and CG of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Check that the EPS warning light is blinking.

      OK

      The EPS warning light is blinking.

      HINT: 

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the parts. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2013 - ] .

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    OK → See step   7 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TS of DLC3 - POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the c1 power steering ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H29-12 (TS) - c1-6 (TS) Always Below 1 Ω
      H29-12 (TS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG of DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H29-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY (TS of DLC3 INPUT) 
    1. Reconnect the c1 power steering ECU assembly connector.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals TS and CG of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Check that the EPS warning light is blinking.

      OK

      The EPS warning light is blinking.

  7. REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER WITH MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  8. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ]
