Inspection [08/2013 - ]

  1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP WITH FILTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check the fuel pump resistance.

      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 0.2 to 3.0 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump with filter assembly.

    2. Check fuel pump operation.
      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.
        NOTE:
        • These tests must be done quickly (within 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
        • Keep the fuel pump with filter assembly as far away from the auxiliary battery as possible.
        • Always switch the voltage on and off at the auxiliary battery side, not the fuel pump with filter assembly side.

        If the pump does not operate, replace the fuel pump with filter assembly.
