DTC P0010: Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit (Bank 1) [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0010) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTC after recording the freeze frame data and DTC.
    5. Turn the power switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
    6. Turn the Techstream on.
    7. Put the engine in inspection mode (maintenance mode). Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [08/2013 - ] .
    8. Start the engine and allow the engine to idle.
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    10. Read the DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0010 is output A
      DTC is not output B

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly. Refer to INSPECTION [08/2013 - ] .

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D58-1 - D24-74 (OC1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D58-2 - D24-75 (OC1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D58-1 or D24-74 (OC1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D58-2 or D24-75 (OC1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [08/2013 - ] 
  5. REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] 
  6. REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
