How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [08/2013 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK IF SAME SYMPTOM APPEARS IN OTHER SYSTEM 
    1. Refer to the audio and visual system. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Audio and visual system is normal A
      Audio and visual system is abnormal B

      B → GO TO AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTCs are not output. (w/ Power Trunk Lid System) A
      CAN DTCs are not output. (w/o Power Trunk Lid System) B
      CAN DTCs are output. C

      B → Go to step   6 

      C → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM)* 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Luggage compartment door closer system DTCs are not output. A
      Luggage compartment door closer system DTCs are output. B

      B → GO TO LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC (PARKING ASSIST MONITOR SYSTEM)* 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggests.
      NOTE:

      The multi-media module receiver assembly outputs DTCs for the following systems. When DTCs other than those in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the parking assist monitor system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the relevant systems.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output. A
      DTCs for parking assist monitor system are output. B
      DTCs for audio and visual system are output. C

      B → Go to step   9 

      C → GO TO AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  7. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to the Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table A
      Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table B

      B → Go to step   9 

      A: Go to next step 

  8. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Diagnosis System. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2013 - ] 
    2. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [08/2013 - ] 
    3. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2013 - ] 

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  10. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
