Coolant Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAINING .
-- Remove the front left coolant pipes. Refer to FRONT LEFT COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and the coolant pipes.
-- Remove the ribbed belt from the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor but do not remove it completely:
- Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING .
- Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH ELECTRO-MECHANICAL POWER STEERING .
-- Remove the coolant hose -arrow- from the front coolant pipe by lifting the retaining clamp.
-- Remove the bolts for the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley by counterholding with a Wrench - Pin Type 3212.
Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Steering
-- Remove the bolts for the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley, using a Wrench - Pin Type 3212 to counterhold.
Vehicles with Electro-Mechanical Power Steering
-- Remove the Cylinder Head Coolant Valve -N489- -arrow- from the bracket and move it to the side.
-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -1-.
Continuation for All Vehicles
Use a cloth to catch any leaking coolant.
-- Remove the coolant pump bolts -arrows- and the coolant pump.
