Shift Mechanism Function Unit: Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM OVERVIEW .

NOTE:

Lubricate the ball socket on the selector lever cable with polycarbamide greaseG 052 142 A2 before installing.

Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

-- Selector mechanism, checking. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, CHECKING .

-- Install the driveshaft. Refer to Removal and Installation or Removal and Installation .

-- Install the front muffler or front exhaust pipe. Refer to [For Engine(S) CAUA] Exhaust System, Emission Controls or to [For engine(s) CAEB] Exhaust System, Emission Controls or to [For engine(s) CALA] Exhaust System, Emission Controls .

-- Install the front ashtray. Refer to FRONT ASHTRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the multimedia system control head. Refer to MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM CONTROL HEAD -E380-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
