Selector Lever Handle: Installing

NOTE:

In order to install the selector lever handle, the locking button must be pulled out all the way and secured either with a cable tie -arrow- or with the assembly tool supplied with a new handle.

If the lock button was not secured, do not pull it out from the handle using mechanical aids. Mount the compressed air gun to the bottom of the handle and then push the locking button out with compressed air.

-- Install the new clamp -arrow- on the selector lever handle.

-- Install the selector lever handle all the way onto the selector lever - make sure the locking button faces the driver.

-- Remove the cable ties or assembly aids. The locking button mechanism will engage in the vertical groove on the selector lever. Press the locking button into the selector lever handle if necessary.

-- Move the selector lever into R and S to check the function of the buttons.

-- Secure the selector lever handle -C- to the selector lever with the clamp -A-. Use V.A.G 1275.

-- Install the selector lever boot frame -B- in the center console.
