Selector Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM and OVERVIEW - GEARSHIFT KNOB AND COVER .

NOTE:

Seals and self-locking nuts must be replaced.

-- Install the tunnel crossmember. Refer to TUNNEL CROSSMEMBER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the heat shield under the selector mechanism. Refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Attach or install the driveshaft on the transmission. Refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT, MOUNTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE , and DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, DRIVESHAFT CONNECTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE . For Sport Differential, refer to OVERVIEW - DRIVESHAFT, MOUNTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE , and DRIVESHAFT, MOUNTED ON TRANSMISSION SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Reconnect exhaust system making sure it is not under stress. Refer to OVERVIEW - MUFFLER , and EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .

-- Install the rear noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Install the gearshift mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .

-- Install the Multimedia System Control Head -E380-. Refer to Multimedia System Control Head -E380-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the A/C display control head. Refer to DISPLAY AND CONTROL HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
