SUBFRAME Without Steering Gear, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the wheels.

-- Remove the left and right wheel housing liner. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Crossbrace, Removing, A4/A5 Coupe. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A4 AND A5 COUPE .
-- Crossbrace, Removing, A5 Cabriolet. Refer to SUBFRAME CROSSBRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, A5 CABRIOLET .
-- Remove the right and left subframe shield if applicable. Refer to SUBFRAME HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the vehicle level sensor, if applicable. Refer to LEFT/RIGHT FRONT LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM SENSOR -G78- / -G289-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Tie up the left and right wheel bearing housings using the Engine Support Bridge 10-222A, as illustrated.
-- Remove the left and right control arms. Refer to CONTROL ARM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the steering gear. Refer to HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the steering gear. Refer to ELECTROMECHANICAL STEERING GEAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Support the engine completely with the Engine Support Bridge 10-222A. Refer to ENGINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engine CALA, ENGINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engines CAED, CAEB, CPMB, CPMA, or ENGINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engines CCBA, CGXC, CTUB .

- Engine Support Supplement Set T40093A, needed depending on the engine. The exact description for engine support. Refer to ENGINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engine CALA, ENGINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engines CAED, CAEB, CPMB, CPMA, or ENGINE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engines CCBA, CGXC, CTUB .
-- Remove the bolts -1- and nuts -3- and the longitudinal braces -2-.
-- RS models: remove the bolt -1- and -3- at the left and right and the brace -2-.
-- Disconnect the threaded connection -1-.
-- Move the guide link and secure it to the body with wire.
-- On vehicles with electrohydraulic engine mounts, disconnect the Left Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve -N144- and Right Electrohydraulic Engine Mount Solenoid Valve -N145- connector -arrow-.
-- Depending on the engine version, remove the nut -2- for the electrical wiring bracket on the right side of the vehicle.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow-, if equipped.
The bolt secures the hydraulic line in vehicles with hydraulic power steering or the ATF line in RS models.
-- RS models, left side of vehicle: remove bolts -1- and -arrows- and lay aside the retaining plate -2- for the left engine mount.
Ignore items -3 and 4-.
-- Remove the left and right engine mount bolts -1 and 5-.
-- Move the left and right engine mount retaining plate -2- to the side.
-- Before lowering the subframe, make sure all the electrical wiring connections have been disconnected and removed.
Mark the installation location of the subframe -A- to -D-, for example, using a felt-tip pen.
-- Remove the bolts -1- through -8- and remove the subframe.
