Sealing ring in intermediate flange for front final drive, replacing: Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:
- Check seal seat in intermediate flange for damage; rework if necessary.
- Coat outer edge and sealing lip of oil seal with gear oil.
- Slide sealing ring onto thrust piece 3404 so that the larger and projecting outer ring (arrow) of sealing ring faces tool.
- Drive in sealing ring up to thrust piece 3404 stop.
NOTE:
- If installing the intermediate flange to the output shaft carelessly, the sealing lip of the sealing ring can be damaged.
- Fill area between sealing lip and dust lip halfway with sealing grease G 052 128 A1.
- Installing intermediate flange for front final drive → Seal for front final drive, replacing .
- Install center differential.
