Hydraulic system, component overview: Notes

1 - Brake fluid reservoir
2 - Supply hose
- For master cylinder
3 - Hose/line assembly
- For push-on connections on master/slave cylinder
- Separating from master cylinder and installing. Refer to Master cylinder, removing and installing
- Separating from slave cylinder. See Separating slave cylinder from hose/pipe assembly
4 - Grommet
5 - Mounting bracket
6 - Clutch pedal
7 - Master cylinder
- Removing and installing. Refer to Master cylinder, removing and installing
- Do not remove clip (arrow A) or gasket (arrow B)
- To remove hose/pipe assembly pull out clip (arrow A) as far as it will go.
8 - Hex socket-head bolt, 20Nm
9 - Mount
- Only replace when master cylinder removed
- Detaching. See Prying off mount
- Pressing on. See Pressing master cylinder operating rod into mount
10 - Transmission
11 - Slave cylinder
- Do not press clutch pedal after removal
- Removing and installing. Refer to Lubricating clutch slave cylinder with grease before installing
- Bleed slave cylinder after working on hydraulic clutch mechanism. Refer to Clutch system, bleeding
- Separate from hose/line assembly. See Separating slave cylinder from hose/pipe assembly
- Brake fluid must not escape onto transmission
12 - Bleeder valve
- Tighten to 4.5 Nm
- Follow work sequence for bleeding. Refer to Clutch system, bleeding
13 - Dust cap
14 - Clip
- To remove tube pull out clip as far as it will go. Refer to Separating slave cylinder from hose/pipe assembly .
15 - Bracket
- For hose/pipe assembly
- Attached to transmission together with slave cylinder
16 - Hex socket-head bolt, 25 Nm
- Slave cylinder to transmission
- Self-locking
- Always replace
17 - Holding clip
18 - Gasket
19 - Bolt
- For brake fluid reservoir
