Coolant Pump: Removing
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Remove the front left coolant pipes. Refer to LEFT FRONT COOLANT PIPES .
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and the coolant pipes.
-- Remove the ribbed belt from the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor but do not remove it completely:
- RIBBED BELT, VEHICLES WITH HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING
- RIBBED BELT, VEHICLES WITH ELECTRO-MECHANICAL POWER STEERING
-- Remove the coolant hose -arrow- from the front coolant pipe by lifting the retaining clamp.
-- Remove the bolts for the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley, using a 3212 to counter hold.
Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Steering
-- Remove the bolts for the coolant pump ribbed belt pulley, using a 3212 to counter hold.
Vehicles with Electro-Mechanical Power Steering
-- Remove the cylinder head coolant valve -N489- -arrow- from the bracket and move it to the side.
-- Disconnect vacuum hose -1-.
All Vehicles
Use a cloth to catch any leaking coolant.
-- Remove the coolant pump bolts -arrows- and the coolant pump.
