Removal And Installation: Piston: Removing

Engine secured to VAS 6095. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER

-- Cylinder head, removing, refer to CYLINDER HEADS .

-- Remove the upper oil pan. Refer to UPPER OIL PAN .

-- Mark the installed position to which the connecting rod bearing cap, cylinder and the connecting rod it belongs for installing again later. Refer to Figure.

-- Remove the connecting rod bearing cap.

-- Remove the piston and connecting rod upward.

NOTE:

Warm the piston to approximately 60 °C (140 °F) if it is difficult to move the piston pin.

-- Remove the locking ring from the eye of the piston bolt.

-- Remove the piston pin using VW 222 A.
