Selector Mechanism: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM OVERVIEW and GEARSHIFT KNOB WITH GEARSHIFT LEVER BOOT OVERVIEW .

NOTE:

Seals and self-locking nuts must be replaced.

-- Install the tunnel crossmember. Refer to TUNNEL CROSSMEMBER .

-- Install the heat shield under the shift mechanism. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Secure the driveshaft on the transmission. Refer to the appropriate service information .

-- Reconnect exhaust system making sure it is not under stress. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .

-- Install the gearshift mechanism. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .

-- Install the multimedia system control head --. Refer to MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM CONTROL HEAD -E380-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the A/C system control head. Refer to the appropriate service information .
