Roof Railing, Removing And Installing: Removing

NOTE:

If the roof rail is only removed on one side, it is sufficient to lower the headliner on this side.

If the roof rail is removed on both sides, the headliner must be completely removed.

The -arrow- points in the direction of travel.

-- Loosen the headliner on one side until it can be lowered. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

The headliner must not be damaged when lowering it and performing the following steps.

-- Screw the hex nuts -4- down from the threaded pins -2- of the roof rail.

-- Lift the roof rail -1- with the threaded bolts evenly upward out of the angle brackets -3 and 9- and off of the roof.

When removing the roof rail, the angle brackets -4- and conical washers -7 and 8- remain in the vehicle.
