Hid Headlamp Bulb, Replacing: Installing

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Do not touch the glass of the HID headlamp bulb when installing. Your fingers will leave traces of grease on the glass which will evaporate and cloud the glass when the HID headlamp bulb is switched on.

Glass cone of gas-discharge lamp must not be under a mechanical strain of any kind. Glass cone is extremely sensitive and is also under high pressure.

Avoid looking directly into focused light beam.

When installing cover cap, check cover cap for proper seating. Water getting in the headlamp will cause damage.

If a headlamp with automatic vertical headlamp range control is removed, always perform headlamp basic setting after installation. Refer to => 29.1.

-- Insert new HID lamp so that retaining tabs lie in cut-out in reflector.

-- Check headlamp for function.

-- Check the headlamp adjustment and adjust the headlamp if necessary. Refer to => 29.1.
