Left Timing Chain Cover, Removing And Installing: Installing

NOTE:

Replace The O-Rings.

-- Remove Old Sealant From The Grooves In The Timing Chain Cover As Well As From The Sealing Surfaces.

CAUTION:

Risk Of Contaminating The Lubricating System.

  • Cover Open Parts Of Engine.

WARNING:

Danger Of Eye Injury.

  • Wear Protective Eyewear.

-- Remove The Sealant Residue On The Cover For The Timing Chain, Cylinder Block And Cylinder Head, For Example Using A Rotating Plastic Brush.

-- Clean The Sealing Surfaces; They Must Be Free Of Oil And Grease.

NOTE:

Note The Expiration Date Of The Sealing Compound.

-- Cut The Tube Nozzle At The Front Marking (Nozzle Diameter: About 2 mm).

CAUTION:

The Lubrication System Could Be Plugged With Excess Sealant.

  • Do Not Apply Sealant Bead Thicker Than Indicated.

-- Apply A Sealant Bead -Arrow- To The Clean Sealing Surfaces Of The Left Timing Chain Cover As Shown In The Illustration.

NOTE:

The Timing Chain Cover Must Be Installed Within 5 Minutes After Applying The Sealant

-- Mount The Left Timing Chain Guard With Both Bracket -Arrows A And B-.

-- Tighten The Bolts And Threaded Pin. Refer To Figure.

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal. Note The Following:

-- Install The Air Combination Valve. Refer To COMBINATION VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install The Throttle Valve Control Module 2 -J544-. Refer To THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL MODULE AND 2 -J338- / -J544-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install The Exhaust Manifold And Catalytic Converter. Refer To EXHAUST MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
