Work Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 Audi S5, 2011 Audi S5, 2010 Audi S5, 2010 Audi A5, and 2009 Audi S5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Proceed As Follows:

-- Observe test conditions TEST CONDITIONS .

-- Remove Rear Bench seat. Refer to SEAT BENCH/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove Locking Flange Cover -arrows-.

-- Disconnect electrical connector -1- on locking flange.

NOTE:

Ignore -2-.

-- Connect Remote Control For V.A.G 1348:V.A.G 1348/3A  using adapter :V.A.G 1348/3-3  and cable from connector test set:V.A.G 1594C  to terminal -1-.

-- 2. Tape adapter cable connector terminal :V.A.G 1348/3-3  with insulating tape -arrow- to prevent a short circuit.

-- Connect connector terminal -5- to chassis ground (GND) with an adapter cable from connector test kit:V.A.G 1594C  .

-- Route VAG 1348 Remote Control:V.A.G 1348/3A  toward front in engine compartment.

-- Unclip plenum chamber cover -2- and remove it.

NOTE:

Ignore -1 and 3- and -arrow-.

-- Release retainer -arrow A- and open cover -arrow B-.

-- Connect alligator clip to battery jump start terminal -U6- -A- in terminal 30 wire junction 2 -TV22- in plenum chamber.

-- Remove cover from fuel filler tube.

-- Remove air duct -arrows-.

-- Remove vacuum hose -3- from connection on air guide pipe.

-- Remove air guide pipe by loosening hose clamp -4- and opening clips -arrows-.

NOTE:

Ignore -1 and 2-.

-- Disconnect Vacuum Line -1-.

-- Remove air filter housing and, if applicable, disconnect electrical connector -2- on rear side at intake air switch-over valve -N335-.

WARNING:

There Is A Risk Of Injury Because The Fuel Is Under High Pressure.

  • To Reduce Pressure In Fuel System, Lay A Clean Cloth Around The Connector And Carefully Loosen Connector.

-- Remove fuel supply line from high pressure pump -arrow-.

-- Connect fuel injection pressure gauge:V.A.G 1318  with adapters :V.A.G 1318/11  and :V.A.G 1318/15  in fuel line.

-- Push An Assisting Hose -arrow- Onto It And Hold It Into A Measuring Container.

-- Open Pressure Gauge Shut-Off Valve.

-- Generate Pressure In Fuel System By Pressing Switch On Remote Control And Slowly Closing Shut-Off Valve On Pressure Gauge.

-- From This Point On Do Not Move Position Of Shut-Off Tap.

-- Empty Measuring Container.

-- Press Remote Control Switch For 15 Seconds. 

-- Compare Quantity Of Fuel Delivered With Minimum Delivery Rate In Diagram (cm3 /15 s).

NOTE:

Voltage At Fuel Pump With Engine Stopped And Pump Running Is Approximate 2 Volts  Less Than Battery Voltage.

If Minimum Delivery Quantity Is Not Obtained, The Following Malfunctions May Be Present:

Assembly Is In Reverse Order Of Removal, Note The Following: 

NOTE:

Secure All Hose Connections With Hose Clamps Appropriate For The Model.

-- Install Right Locking Flange Cover.

-- Install Rear Bench Seat. Refer to SEAT BENCH/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install Air Filter Housing AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
