Secondary Air Injection (Air) Solenoid Valve, Checking, With Vacuum Control: Procedure
- Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks.
- Vacuum lines not plugged.
-- Remove the engine cover in direction of -arrows-.
Left AIR Combination Valve
-- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to LOCK CARRIER .
Right AIR Combination Valve
-- Free up the fuel line and the line to the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister on the air guide pipe.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- from the Mass Airflow Sensor -G70-.
-- Disconnect the vacuum line -3- from the air guide pipe.
Risk Of Violating Emissions Legislation
- Do not open hose connection -2- !
-- Lay aside air guide pipe with connected crankcase ventilation hose -2- by loosening hose clamp -4- and opening clips -arrows-.
Continued for Both Sides
-- Remove the vacuum hose -3- on the combination valve to be checked.
-- Disconnect the secondary air hose -3- by pressing the release buttons.
-- Connect the : VAS6213 to the vacuum connection -1- for the combination valve to be checked.
-- Connect the hose -2- to the AIR combination valve.
-- Blow lightly into the assisting hose by mouth, do not use compressed air.
- The AIR combination valve must be closed and it must not be possible to blow through it.
-- Blow forcefully into the assisting hose by mouth, do not use compressed air.
- The AIR combination valve must open and it must be possible to blow through it.
-- If the right AIR combination valve does not react as described, replace it.
-- Refer to LEFT COMBINATION VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, WITH VACUUM CONTROL or RIGHT COMBINATION VALVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, WITH VACUUM CONTROL .
