Entry Assistance Connecting Cable, Removing And Installing: Removing

  • Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
  • Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove The Front Seat: 

-- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS6136  . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TWO PIECE .

-- Remove the backrest frame trim. Refer to BACKREST FRAME TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove The Head Restraints: 

-- Remove the entry assistance trim. Refer to ENTRY ASSISTANCE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL STANDARD SEAT .

-- Remove the cover with padding. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .

-- Tilt the bracket -arrow- up as far as the stop and hold it in that position.

-- Disengage the connecting cable -1- at the bracket.

-- Push the handle -1- forward as far as the stop.

-- Disengage the connecting cable -2- at the handle.

-- Remove the connecting cable.
