Backrest Release Cable, Removing And Installing, Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove The Front Seat:

Standard seat and Sport seat (manual). Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL .
Standard seat, Sport seat (power) and Comfort seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER .

-- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture:VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TWO PIECE .

-- Remove the backrest frame trim. Refer to BACKREST FRAME TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove The Head Restraints:

Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, HEADREST WITH SLIDING LOCKING MECHANISM .
Refer to HEADREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER HEADREST .

-- Remove the entry assistance trim. Refer to ENTRY ASSISTANCE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL STANDARD SEAT .

-- Remove the cover with padding. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .

-- Remove side airbag. Refer to FRONT SIDE AIRBAG WITH IGNITER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

The Spring Mat Or Lumbar Support Does Not Need To Be Removed When Removing And Installing The Release Cables.

-- Using pliers, disengage the eyes -3- (quantity: 2) from the pins -4- (quantity: 2) on both sides.

-- Drill out rivets -2- on left and right brackets -1-.

5 - Backrest frame

-- Unclip the end of the release cable -2-.

-- Press the end of the release cable out of the bracket -1- in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Unclip the mount -1- from the backrest frame -2-.

-- Guide the end of the release cable through the mount opening in the backrest frame.

-- Remove the left and right release cables from the backrest frame.
