Overview - Front Brake Caliper, FBC, 1LA And 1LJ Brake Caliper

NOTE:

Install The Entire Repair Kit When Servicing.

Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste:G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.

Bolt
- 30 Nm
Protective Cap
- Insert in brake caliper
- Replace. Refer to BEARING BUSHING AND GUIDE PIN, REPLACING, FBC, 1LA AND 1LJ BRAKE CALIPER .
Guide Pin
- Slide through the boot
- Replace. Refer to BEARING BUSHING AND GUIDE PIN, REPLACING, FBC, 1LA AND 1LJ BRAKE CALIPER .
Protective Cap
- Install on the bleeder valve.
Breather Valve
- 15 Nm
- Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste: G 052 150 A2 to the threads before screwing in.
Brake Caliper Housing
Spring
- ensure installation position is correct.
Protective Cap
- Do not damage when inserting the piston
- Coat with Assembly Paste: G 052 150 A2 .
- PROTECTIVE CAP AND SEAL, REMOVING
Piston
- Apply a thin coat of Assembly Paste:G 052 150 A2 to the piston beforehand
- Diameter 57 mm.
- PROTECTIVE CAP AND SEAL, REMOVING
Seal
- Coat with Assembly Paste: G 052 150 A2 .
- Refer to PROTECTIVE CAP AND SEAL, REMOVING
Brake Carrier
- Removing and installing. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LA, 1LB, 1LJ AND 1LD 1ZT + S4 /S5 .
- The 4 retaining pins for the brake pads on the brake carrier must not be loosened under any circumstances.
Bolt
- 196 Nm
