Lower Timing Chain Cover, Replacing: Installing

TIP: 

Be sure to check the expiration date of the sealant.

-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: approximately 3 mm).

NOTE: Risk of Engine Damage Due to Excess Sealant in the Lubrication System
- Do not apply sealant bead thicker than indicated.

Cover with 15 Bolts

-- Apply the sealant as shown on the clean sealing surface -arrow 1- and on the edges -arrows 2- of the new cover.

-- Immediately attach the cover and tighten the bolts. Refer to.Lower Timing Chain Cover with 15 Bolts - Tightening Specification and Sequence

-- Apply the sealant as shown on the clean sealing surface -arrow 1- and on the edges -arrows 2- of the new cover.

Continuation 

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-- Install the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Non-hybrid vehicles: install the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the engine oil and check the oil level. Refer to Refer to appropriate FLUID CAPACITY TABLE information in MAINTENANCE. .

-- There are additional procedures depending on the model. Refer to TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
