Input Shaft Seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Pulling Hook T20143/2
• Assembly Tool T40198
• Guide Sleeve T40198/1
• Engine and Transmission Holder VAS 6095

Procedure 

• Secure the transmission to the VAS 6095. Refer to SECURING ON ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .

-- Remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL .

-- Remove the input shaft seal using T20143/2.

-- Install the T40198/1 on the input shaft.

-- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with oil.

-- Fill the space between the sealing- and dust lip half way with sealing grease;

-- Install the shaft seal on the guide sleeve.

• Installed position: Open side of shaft seal faces transmission.

-- Install the shaft seal with the T40198 all the way. Be careful not to bend it.

-- Install the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL .
