Gear Shift Shaft Seal, Replacing

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Press Piece - Shift Rod/Alternator VW 423
Sealing GreaseG 052 128 A1

-- Remove the transmission shift lever and the relay lever, refer to SHIFT CABLE AND SELECTOR CABLE OVERVIEW .

-- Remove the gear shift shaft seal using a screwdriver.

-- Lightly oil the new gear shift shaft seal on the outer circumference.

-- Half fill the area between the sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- with Sealing GreaseG 052 128 A1.

Install the Seal Completely

-- Install the gear shift shaft seal using the Press Piece - Shift Rod/Alternator VW 423.

-- Install the transmission shift lever and relay lever, refer to SHIFT CABLE AND SELECTOR CABLE OVERVIEW .
