Filling Joints With Grease

- Bolt
- Twelve point bolt: 70 Nm + 90° turn. Refer to 12-POINT BOLT BETWEEN DRIVE AXLE AND WHEEL HUB, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
- Hex bolt: 200 Nm + 180° turn. Refer to HEX BOLT BETWEEN DRIVE AXLE AND WHEEL HUB, LOOSENING AND TIGHTENING .
- Different versions. Allocation.
- Always replace after removing it.
- Before installing, clean the threads in the constant velocity joint with a tap.
- Outer Constant Velocity Joint
- Replace only as complete unit.
- Removing, refer to OUTER CV JOINT, REMOVING
- Divide the grease between the ball paths. Refer to FILLING JOINTS WITH GREASE
- Installing: Drive onto shaft until impact using plastic hammer.
- Checking, refer to OUTER CV JOINT, CHECKING .
- Securing Ring
- Always replace after removing it.
- Insert in shaft groove.
- Clamp
- Always replace after removing it.
- Tensioning, refer to MOUNT AND TENSION STAINLESS STEEL CLAMP USING CLAMPING DEVICE V.A.G 1682 AS ILLUSTRATED. .
- Protective Boot
- Check for tears and scuffing
- Material: Hytrel (Polyelastomer)
