Lower Timing Chain Cover, Replacing: Removing

Preliminary work may be required depending on the model. Refer to TIMING CHAIN COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Engine oil drained. For the correct viscosity classes, oil specifications and oil capacities. Refer to appropriate FLUID CAPACITY TABLE information in MAINTENANCE.

-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Non-hybrid vehicles: remove the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the oil dipstick tube from the timing chain cover.

NOTE:

There may be only eight bolts installed, depending on the version.

Loosen the lower timing chain cover from the bonding.
