Front seat backrest and seat pan, removing and installing: Notes

1 - Bolt (24 Nm)

Replace with locking compound
Locking compound

2 - Bolt (4 Nm)

3 - Seat fore/aft adjustment handle

Disengaging actuating link for seat fore/aft adjustment Disengaging actuating link for seat fore/aft adjustment

4 - Bolt (24 Nm)

Replace with locking compound
Locking compound

5 - Seat pan

Removing

Remove seat → Seat, removing and installing .
Mount the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 on the engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
Remove side trim on sill side → Side panels, removing and installing .

Remove side trim on tunnel side → Side panels, removing and installing .
Remove control module → Control module, removing and installing .
Disconnect relay sockets from metal retainer Disconnect relay socket, disconnect harness connectors and pneumatic hose .
Disconnect pneumatic hose Disconnect relay socket, disconnect harness connectors and pneumatic hose .

Expose electrical cables Disconnect relay socket, disconnect harness connectors and pneumatic hose .
Disengage actuating link for seat fore/aft adjustment from release lever Disengaging actuating link for seat fore/aft adjustment .
Remove bolts - 1 -, - 4 - and - 11 -
Remove bolts - 6 - and - 8 - and set backrest aside behind seat pan.

Remove seat pan.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

Insert bolts with locking compound; locking compound .

6 - Bolt (20 Nm)

Replace with locking compound
Locking compound

7 - Backrest

Removing

Remove seat → Seat, removing and installing .
Mount the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 on the engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
Remove side trim on sill side → Side panels, removing and installing .

Remove side trim on tunnel side → Side panels, removing and installing .
Remove control module → Control module, removing and installing .
Disconnect relay sockets from metal retainer Disconnect relay socket, disconnect harness connectors and pneumatic hose .
Disconnect pneumatic hose Disconnect relay socket, disconnect harness connectors and pneumatic hose .

Expose electrical cables Disconnect relay socket, disconnect harness connectors and pneumatic hose .
Remove handle for seat fore/aft adjustment - 3 -, for this purpose, remove bolt - 2 -.
Disengage actuating link for seat fore/aft adjustment from release lever Disengaging actuating link for seat fore/aft adjustment .
Remove bolts - 1 -, - 4 - and - 11 -

Remove seat pan - 5 -.
Remove bolts - 6 - and - 8 -.
Remove backrest and guide electrical wiring harness out of seat frame.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

Insert bolts with locking compound; locking compound .

8 - Bolt (20 Nm)

Replace with locking compound
Locking compound

9 - Pneumatic hose

For lids for backrest bolster inflation adjustment

10 - Electrical wiring harness

11 - Bolt (24 Nm)

Replace with locking compound
Locking compound

12 - Seat frame
