Overview - Valve Train, 2.0L Engine

Exhaust Valve
- Do not rework, only lapping is permitted
- Valve Dimensions. Refer to VALVE DIMENSIONS .
- Valve Guides, Checking. Refer to VALVE GUIDES, CHECKING .
Cylinder Head
- Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - CYLINDER HEAD .
Valve Guide
- Checking. Refer to VALVE GUIDES, CHECKING .
Valve Stem Seal
- Replacing. Refer to VALVE STEM SEALS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Valve Spring
Valve Spring Retainer
Valve Retainers
Hydraulic Lifter
- With roller rocker lever
- Do not interchange
- Lubricate the contact surface
Exhaust Camshaft
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.0L ENGINE
- Check the radial clearance using Plastigauge^® (roller rocker lever removed)
- Radial clearance: 0.024 to 0.066 mm
- Run-out: maximum 0.04 mm
Spring
- No replacement part
Ball
- For sliding bar
- Installing. Refer to SLIDING BAR BALL, INSTALLING .
Cylinder Head Cover
- With integrated camshaft bearings
- Remove old sealant residue.
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.0L ENGINE
- Clean the sealing surface, reworking is not permitted.
- Only replace together with the cylinder head
Bolt
- Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to Figure.
- Always replace after removing
- Loosening. Refer to Figure.
O-ring
- Check for damage
- Lubricate with engine oil
- No replacement part: included in the cam adjustment actuator delivery package
Cam Adjustment Actuator
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAM ADJUSTMENT ACTUATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Bolt
- 5 Nm
O-ring
- Always replace after removing
- Lubricate with engine oil
Plug
Intake Camshaft
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 2.0L ENGINE
- Check the radial clearance using Plastigauge^® (roller rocker lever removed)
- Radial clearance: 0.024 to 0.066 mm
- Run-out: maximum 0.04 mm
Cap
- Always replace after removing
- Removing: with the cylinder head cover installed, pierce through one side of the cover with an awl and pry it out
- Installing. Refer to Installing - Drive The Cap -1- In Without Sealant Using The :T10174. .
Intake Valve
- Do not rework, only lapping is permitted
- Valve Dimensions. Refer to VALVE DIMENSIONS .
- Valve Guides, Checking. Refer to VALVE GUIDES, CHECKING .
