Balance Shaft Drive Chain, Removing And Installing: Installing

-- Turn the intermediate sprocket and balance shaft to the marking -arrow-.

-- Mount the timing chain; the painted links of the timing chain must be positioned on the markings on the chain sprockets.

-- Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the bolts -4-.

-- Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the bolts -3-.

-- Install the timing chain tensioning rail and tighten the bolt -2-.

-- Coat the chain tensioner seal -1- with sealant. Refer to the Parts information for the sealant.

-- Install the timing chain tensioner -1-.

-- Check the setting one more time.

NOTE:

For clarity the marking on the intermediate sprocket/balance shaft is shown with the chain removed.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

-- Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
