Seat Pan Cover And Cushion, Removing And Installing, Seat Pan With Seat Depth Adjuster: Removing

WARNING:
  • Follow all safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
  • Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove the front seat:

-- Attach the front seat to the :VAS6136  . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the backrest:

-- Remove the retaining bracket for the sill-side trim:

-- Versions with LATCH child seat anchor (front passenger seat only): remove the LATCH child seat anchor. Refer to FRONT CHILD SEAT ANCHOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pull out the seat depth adjuster until it stops.

-- Unclip the catches -2-.

-- Tilt the support with the cushion and cover -1- for the seat depth adjuster upward in the direction of the -arrow- until the catches remain disengaged.

-- Remove the support -1- with the seat depth adjustment cushion and cover -2- upward and forward at an angle.

NOTE:

The illustration does not show the seat pan lower frame.

-- Disengage the tabs -3- from the holes -5- on the seat depth adjuster lower section -4-.

-- Unclip the retaining channels -1 and 2- for the cover and cushion -4- from the retainers -3- positioned diagonally at the rear and at the side.

-- Disengage the cover retaining channels -3- with the :3370  on the side areas -A- of the seat pan upper frame.

-- When disengaging the retaining channels, be careful of the protruding hooks -1- on the edge -2-.

-- Disengage both tab hooks -1- on the seat pan -3-.

-- Disengage the retaining channels -6- on the cover using the :3370  near -A-.

-- When disengaging the cover, be careful of the exposed hooks -4- on the edge -5-.

-- Remove the cover and cushion from the seat pan while guiding the seat heating wiring harness at the same time.

NOTE:

The seat depth adjuster support (plastic) remains on the cushion.
