Rear Lid Seal, Removing And Installing, AVANT: Notes

NOTE:

For vehicles through MY 2011, the butt joint on the body flange must be sealed as well when replacing the rear lid seal. Refer to "Additionally Sealing the Body Flange", see Figure.

Rear Lid Seal
- Removing:
  -- The rear lid end piece trim panel is removed. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - REAR LID TRIM PANELS .
  
  -- Secure the rear lid from falling down and disconnect the gas-filled strut on the body side from the left and right ball studs.
  
  -- Remove the seal from the flange on the body all the way around.
  
  -- When installing, align the seal to the upper marking -arrow- and then press it onto the flange all the way around.
