Rear Output Flange And Driveshaft Seal, Transfer Case Installing, Removing And Installing: Removing

Place a cloth over the bracket for the exhaust system.

-- Remove the bolts from the intermediate bearing -1- and lay the Driveshaft on the exhaust system.

-- If equipped, remove the balance weight from the transfer case (4 bolts).

-- Mark -arrow- the installed position of the Driveshaft with transfer case and rear final drive.

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the Driveshaft.

The pry lever -1- must be mounted on sleeve -arrow B- in order to remove the Driveshaft from the transfer case.
The pry lever -1- will get damaged if is touching the boot. Then it will necessary to remove the Driveshaft.

-- Remove the Driveshaft from the transfer case. Attach the pry lever -1- to the end of the hub on the Driveshaft -arrow B-.

NOTE:

The pry lever -1- must be supported on the surface -arrow A- when being removed.

A locking ring secure the Drive Axle to the flange and can be pulled off with a forceful pull.

-- Tie Driveshaft sideways onto underbody.

-- Remove the dust cap -A- with a pry lever -B-.

-- Make a hole in the center of the shaft seal with a drift.

-- Install the 4 mm diameter -arrow- screws.

NOTE:

Do not damage sealing surface on the input shaft when doing so.

Be careful not to install the screw too deep otherwise the bearing underneath will get damaged.

-- Remove the shaft seal with Puller - Unit InjectorT10055.
