Rear Parking Aid Sensor, Removing And Installing

Component location: In bumper lower section -arrows-.

Removal

Outer Sensors:

-- On vehicles with trailer hitch, remove rear bumper, refer to REAR BUMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Reach behind bumper cover from below.

NOTE:

On vehicles with S-line equipment and a trailer hitch, the rear bumper cover may not be removed.

Inner Sensor:

-- Remove rear bumper cover, refer to REAR BUMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

On vehicles with S-line equipment and a trailer hitch, the rear bumper cover may not be removed.

All Vehicles:

-- Press both retainer tabs to side in direction of -arrows- and press sensor -2- from outside towards inside.

-- Disconnect electrical harness connector -1- at sensor.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Inner Sensor:

-- Install the cover on the rear bumper, refer to REAR BUMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Outer Sensors:

-- On vehicles with trailer hitch, install rear bumper, refer to REAR BUMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Vehicles with Lane Change Assist:

On vehicles with Audi side assist, Lane Change Assistance Control Module -J769- /Lane Change Assistance Control Module 2 -J770- must be re-calibrated each time bumper cover is removed, refer to LANE CHANGE ASSISTANCE, PREPARING FOR CALIBRATION .
