Incorporation Of Rear HVAC System Into Cooling And Refrigerant Circuit
The rear A/C system is installed only in vehicles with "Comfort" version A/C system as optional equipment.
- Low Pressure Side Connection To Evaporator In Rear Heating & A/C Unit
- Refrigerant line, disconnecting and reconnecting, refer to REFRIGERANT LINE CONNECTION POINTS, LOOSENING AND ASSEMBLING .
- High Pressure Side Connection To Evaporator In Rear Heating & A/C Unit
- Refrigerant line, disconnecting and reconnecting, refer to REFRIGERANT LINE CONNECTION POINTS, LOOSENING AND ASSEMBLING .
- Coolant Supply From Engine
- On vehicles with a 6-cylinder TDI engine and all vehicles with parking/auxiliary heater to the Coolant Recirculation Pump -V50-. Refer to INCORPORATION OF THE A/C SYSTEM IN VEHICLE COOLANT CIRCUIT .
- To heater cores of front and rear heating & A/C units. Refer to INCORPORATION OF FRONT HVAC SYSTEM INTO COOLING CIRCUIT on vehicles with 6 cylinder gasoline engine.

.NOTE:
From MY 2014, a Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- is installed on certain engines without the optional "parking heater".
The coolant shut-off valve -N82- is activated by the Climatronic Control Module -J255- front A/C control head (via the Engine Coolant Shut-Off Valve Relay -J541-), when no heat is desired in the passenger compartment. Refer to Wiring diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component locations and the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in "Guided Fault Finding" .
The Heater Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- is activated by the Auxiliary Heater Control Module -N279- when requested by the climatronic control module -J255- on vehicles with the optional "parking heater" and a motor on which a coolant shut-off valve -J255- would be activated (observe the parking heater adaption). Refer to Wiring diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component locations and the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in "Guided Fault Finding" .

- Loosening and assembling connection points of refrigerant lines, refer to REFRIGERANT LINE CONNECTION POINTS, LOOSENING AND ASSEMBLING .
- Pass-Through For Coolant Hoses and Refrigerant Lines
- Removing and installing, refer to PASS-THROUGH FOR COOLANT HOSES AND REFRIGERANT LINES TO REAR WHEEL HOUSING .
- Check that coolant hoses are installed correctly.
- Refrigerant line, disconnecting and reconnecting, refer to PASS-THROUGH FOR COOLANT HOSES AND REFRIGERANT LINES TO REAR WHEEL HOUSING .
