-- On vehicles with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode. Refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging electronic components when disconnecting the battery.

Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.

-- Disconnect the Ground (GND) cable -4-. Refer to GROUND CABLE WITH Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367- FROM MY 09, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the noise insulation -1 and 2-. Refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right front wheel housing liners. Refer to Wheel Housing Liners .

-- Remove the stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Mount the Engine Support Bridge 10-222A with Engine Support Bridge - Sub-frame Adapter10-222A/22 and Mounts T40091/3.

-- Install the other parts as illustrated. Position the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 1910-222A/19 on the notches on the longitudinal members.

-- Engage the Engine Support - Bracket w/Spindle and Hook10-222A/10 into the rear engine lift eyes.

-- Push the Support T40091/2 with both Sliders T40093/5 into both Mounts T40093/4.

-- Install the long spindles from the Engine Support Bridge 10-222A and attach the hooks to the engine lifting eyes.

WARNING:

There is the risk of an accident.

Secure Supports T40091/2 with pins and connector Cotter Pins T40093/4.

-- Slightly tension the engine but do not lift it.

-- Remove the left and right bolts -arrows- from the engine mount.

NOTE:

Ignore item -1-.

-- Remove the 2 bolts and then remove the steering gear heat shield -A-.

CAUTION:

The airbag spiral spring could be damaged.

Separate universal joint from steering gear only when front wheels are in straight ahead position.
Do not change steering wheel position and steering gear position any more, secure steering wheel with adhesive tape.

-- Remove the bolt -B- for the universal joint. Refer to Removing .

-- Remove universal joint from steering gear.

-- Free up the coolant hoses -arrow-.

-- Disengage the power steering hydraulic line from the left bracket on the subframe.

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Press the release buttons and remove the secondary air hoses -1-.

-- Remove the nuts -2- and loosen the nut -5-.

-- Remove the Secondary Air Injection Pump Motor -V101- and bracket.

NOTE:

Ignore item -4-.

-- Mark location of subframe and engine carrier to longitudinal members with a felt-tip pen.

WARNING:

The subframe could cause an accident if it is not secured.

The subframe bolts -2- and the transmission carrier bolts -1- must never be loosened.

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 4- then lower the subframe with the front engine carrier.

-- Remove engine carrier forward.
