Front Passenger Airbag Unit, Removing And Installing: Installing

NOTE:

Make sure the connectors are installed correctly and are secure.

Make sure the wires do not get caught.

Install in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

WARNING:

Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. Maintain personal safety when connecting the battery by staying out of airbag deployment areas, keeping a distance from belt tensioners/seat belts and ensuring no other people are in the vehicle interior at the moment when the battery is connected.

-- Replace the airbag securing components after airbag deployment.

-- Switch on ignition.

-- Turn on the ignition and connect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
