Front Passenger Airbag Deactivation Key Switch -E224-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to PYROTECHNIC, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES .

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to GLOVE COMPARTMENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

WARNING:

Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Press securing catch -1- in direction of -arrow- until connection disengages.

-- Remove electrical connector -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -2-.

-- Release the retaining tabs in the direction of the -arrow- and remove the key switch housing from the glove compartment.

-- Release left and right retaining springs -arrow 1- and push Front Passenger Airbag Deactivation Key Switch -E224- -Item 1- out of key switch housing -arrow 2-.
