Airbag Control Module -J234-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to PYROTECHNIC, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES .

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove center console storage compartment. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE OVERVIEW .

-- Remove Multimedia System Control Head -E380-. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE OVERVIEW .

WARNING:

Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Remove nuts -1- (quantity: 3) from threaded pins.

-- Remove Airbag Control Module -J234- -2- from threaded pins.

-- Open securing clip at connector -3-.

-- Remove connector -3-.

-- Remove control module -2- from center console.
