WARNING:

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to PYROTECHNIC, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES .

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the left or right wheel housing trim from the C-pillar. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER OVERVIEW .

WARNING:

Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Release connector -3- by pressing fitting on connector in direction of Driver Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G256- or Passenger Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G257- -2-.

-- Remove connector -3- from Driver Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G256- or Passenger Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G257- -2-.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Remove Driver Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G256- or Passenger Side Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G257- -2-.
