Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G179- AND Front Passenger Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G180-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to PYROTECHNIC, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM COMPONENTS, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES .
-- Turn on the ignition.
-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Remove left or right sill panel strip. Refer to SILL PANEL STRIP OVERVIEW .
Before handling airbag units (for example, disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.
-- Release connector -3- by pressing fitting on connector in direction of Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G179- or Front Passenger Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G180- -2-.
-- Remove connector -3- from Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G179- or Front Passenger Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G180- -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -1-.
-- Remove Driver Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G179- or Front Passenger Side Airbag Crash Sensor -G180- -2-.
