Oil Pan, Removing And Installing: Removal

Proceed as follows: 

-- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode, refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .

-- Remove engine bracket left and right nuts -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolt -1-.

-- Instead of using a bolt, tighten the Engine Sling - Cover Plate 2024A/2 with an M8x35 bolt -item 1-.

-- Position Engine Support Bridge 10-222A with adapters Engine Support Bridge - Sub-frame Adapter 10-222A/22 and Connectors T40091/3 on bolted fender flanges.

-- Install parts of Engine Support Basic Set T40091 and Engine Support - Supplement Kit T40093A as shown in illustration.

-- Slide Supports T40091/2 with both Slides T40093/5 into both Mounts T40093/4.

-- Install long Engine Support Bridge 10-222A spindles and engage hooks in front engine lifting eyes and Engine Sling - Cover Plate 2024A/2.

-- Raise engine until engine supports are above engine bracket threaded pins and evenly tension both spindles to achieve even weight distribution.

-- Remove the bolts and the front -1- and rear -2- noise insulation.

CAUTION:

Risk of distorting airbag spiral spring.

• Separate universal joint from steering gear only when front wheels are in straight ahead position.
• Secure steering wheel with adhesive tape to prevent position of steering wheel and steering gear from changing.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the universal joint. .

-- Remove universal joint from steering gear.

-- Remove coupling rods from left and right of stabilizer bar -arrow-.

-- Mark location of subframe and engine carrier to longitudinal members with a felt-tip pen.

-- Remove bolts -3 and 4- and lower subframe with front engine carrier.

Vehicles with Automatic Transmission: 

-- Remove bolt -arrow- on ATF line bracket.

Vehicles with 4-Zone Climate Control: 

-- Remove bolts -1 and 2- and pull rear coolant pipes slightly to side.

All Vehicles:

-- Place Used Oil Collection And Extraction Unit SMN372500 under engine and drain engine oil.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-.

-- Free up electrical wiring harness on oil pan.

-- Remove oil pan to transmission connection bolts -arrows-.

-- Loosen oil pan screws -1- in a diagonal sequence and remove.

-- If oil pan is stuck, tap lightly with rubber hammer to loosen.

-- Place oil pan on subframe.

-- Remove bolts -arrows- and remove oil pump intake tubes.
