Oil Pump And Oil Pan Lower Section Overview

CAUTION:
Danger of catalytic converter damage.
- The oil level must not exceed the "MAX" marking.
NOTE:
If large quantities of metal particles or abraded material are detected during engine repairs, it may mean the crankshaft or rod bearings are damaged. To prevent damage, perform the following steps after completing the repair: carefully clean the oil channels and replace the oil spray jets, the oil cooler and the oil filter.
Oil capacities, specifications and viscosity classes. Refer to the Fluid Capacity Chart.
Oil injector jet for piston cooling, refer to Fig 1.
- Oil Pan Lower Section
- Removing and Installing. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- With Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-.
- Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-, Removing and Installing. Refer to Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bolt
- Replace
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 4 and Chart.
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 8 Nm + 90°
- Replace
- Oil Baffle
- Oil Pump
- Do not disassemble.
- With cold pressure relief valve 11 bar and pressure regulator valve 3.5 bar.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 23 Nm
- Alignment Sleeves
- Oil Pump Driveshaft
- Support
- Pressure Spring
- Thrust Washer
- Chain Sprocket for Oil Pump
- Installation position: the lettering faces the engine.
- Bolt
- Tightening specification: 60 Nm
- To loosen, counterhold on sprocket with Wrench - Pin Type3212.
- If it is not possible to tighten the bolt to the specification, remove the oil pan lower section and the oil baffle and counterhold the bolt with an open end wrench on the oil pump driveshaft.
- Seal
- Replace
- Oil Drain Plug
- Tightening specification: 30 Nm
-- Tighten the nuts -1- to 9 Nm.
NOTE:
Replace any bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.
-- Tighten the bolts in 3 steps as follows:
