Shift Mechanism Function Unit, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the handle from the selector lever. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the frame with the multimedia system control head -E380- -1-. Refer to Interior Equipment .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the noise insulation -2- from the shift housing.

-- Remove the front ashtray or front storage compartment. Refer to Interior Equipment .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and -1- from the center console bracket.

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove center console bracket by tilting selector mechanism function unit.

-- Press and hold the parking lock button -C-.

-- Pull the selector rod -B- up and move the selector lever -arrow- into "S".

-- Lift the selector mechanism function unit.

-- Remove the clamping screw -1- through the opening at the top of the selector mechanism -arrow- using the socketT40031.

-- Remove the locking plate -2- from the selector lever cable -1-.
