Engine Support, Removing And Installing: Removal

Proceed as follows:

-- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode, refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .

-- Remove the left and right engine mounts, refer to ENGINE MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts and the front -1- and rear -2- noise insulation.

CAUTION:

Risk of distorting airbag spiral spring.

Separate universal joint from steering gear only when front wheels are in straight ahead position.
Secure steering wheel with adhesive tape to prevent position of steering wheel and steering gear from changing.

-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the universal joint, refer to Removing .

-- Remove universal joint from steering gear.

-- Remove coupling rods from left and right of stabilizer bar -arrow-.

-- Remove ground connection -1- from right longitudinal member.

-- Mark location of subframe and engine carrier to longitudinal members with a felt-tip pen.

WARNING:

There is the risk of an accident.

Bolts -1 and 2- must remain installed.

-- Remove bolts -3 and 4- and lower subframe with front engine carrier.

-- Remove engine carrier forward.
