Transmission Control Module - J217-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Removing
-- Before replacing or removing the control module, perform Guided Fault Finding or Guided Functions Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
-- Read out control module identification and coding from previous Transmission Control Module -J217-.
-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
-- Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to Seat Frames .
-- Open the drawer -1- under the front passenger seat.
-- Release clips on the back of the cover -2- in direction of -arrow A-.
-- Remove the cover from the front passenger seat console in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Remove the bolt -4-.
-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 2-.
-- Remove the mount -3- and control modules upward.
Risk of damaging transmission components.
- You must first discharge yourself of any static electricity by touching a grounded metal object (bare handed) before touching or removing the Transmission Control Module -J217-.
- Never touch the connectors in the Transmission Control Module -J217-. Electrostatic discharging can damage the Transmission Control Module -J217-.
-- Open the clips in direction of -arrows- and pull the Transmission Control Module -J217- -3- until it stops. If necessary, release clips again and remove control module from mount.
