Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removing

NOTE:

When assembled correctly, the radiator and condenser may have slight indentations on their fins. This is not damage. Radiators or condensers should not be replaced because of slight impressions like these.

-- Discharge refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT, SERVICING .

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD .

-- Remove air guide hose -arrow- to Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump from upper section of air filter housing.

-- Disconnect electrical connector -1- at Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor on Radiator outlet -G83-.

-- Lift the retaining clip -2- and remove the upper coolant hose from the radiator.

-- Remove coolant hose -arrow- to radiator from right coolant pipe.

-- Separate the electrical connector -1-.

NOTE:

Ignore items - 2 and 3-.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging coolant lines and hoses.

Do not stretch, kink or bend coolant lines and hoses.

-- Remove refrigerant lines -1 and 2- from condenser.

-- Remove air intake grille -1- in upper section of bumper cover -arrow-.

-- Remove left and right radiator locking mechanism by pressing down against clamps -arrow-.

-- Remove bolts -2- on rear side of radiator.

-- Disengage power steering cooler -1- at Air Conditioning A/C) system condenser.

-- Remove bolts -1- on rear side of radiator.

-- Press off retaining clips -2 and 3-.

-- Remove ATF cooler -4- from radiator.

-- Remove bolts at left and right of lock carrier -2-.

-- Swing radiator on upper side back and remove coolant hose -1-.

-- Remove radiator upward out of engine compartment.

-- Remove bolts -3- on rear side of radiator.

-- Press off retaining clips -2 and 4-.

-- Remove A/C system condenser -1- from radiator.
